Court Grants ₦2 Billion Bail to Miyetti Allah National President Over Alleged $2.33m Money Laundering
The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo, in the sum of ₦2 billion as he faces trial over alleged money laundering.

Delivering the ruling, Justice Inyang Ekwo ordered that Bodejo must provide two sureties, each with a bond of ₦2 billion. The court stipulated that the sureties must be persons of integrity, with one required to own landed property within the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), while the other must present valid tax clearance certificates covering the 2023, 2024, and 2025 tax years.
Justice Ekwo further directed the court registrar to verify all documents submitted by the sureties before the bail conditions can be deemed satisfied.
As part of the bail terms, Bodejo was ordered to deposit all his travel documents with the court. The Nigeria Immigration Service has also been directed to ensure that he does not leave Nigeria or travel outside the court’s jurisdiction without obtaining prior approval.
The matter was adjourned until October 5, 6, and 7, 2026, for the continuation of the trial.
Bodejo was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on July 9, 2026, on a 12-count charge bordering on the alleged laundering of $2.33 million. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges, paving the way for the trial to proceed.
