Atiku to Osun Voters: You Backed Me Before, Vote ADC for Governorship

Former Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku Abubakar has made a direct appeal to voters in Osun State to back Rt. Hon. Dr Najeem Folasayo Salaam, the candidate of the ADC in the forthcoming governorship election, reminding them of their past electoral support for him.

Addressing supporters in Osun on Monday, Atiku said the state had repeatedly stood by him at the polls, stressing that he had not forgotten their loyalty.

“This is the fourth time I am standing on this podium, and each time I stood here, you gave me your votes. I cannot forget that,” Atiku said.

He recalled campaigning for the incumbent governor and urging Osun voters to support him, saying they responded by voting for the candidate.

Atiku also pointed to his 2023 presidential campaign, claiming that Osun voters backed him and helped him defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the state.

“I have come today to appeal to you again to vote for the ADC,” he declared.

The former vice president said the ADC was different from the APC and other political parties, insisting that “the best of Nigerians” were now in the party.

He expressed confidence that the ADC would win the forthcoming governorship election, saying the large turnout at the rally had given the party fresh optimism.

Atiku thanked the people for their previous support and urged them to repeat the gesture at the next election.

“You will not regret voting ADC,” he told the crowd, who responded with chants of “ADC! ADC!”
