Abia Homeland Security Agency Dismisses Officer Over Theft, Gross Misconduct
The Abia State Homeland Security Agency has dismissed an officer, Mr. Sunday Ndifreke Essien, Service No. 26/0472, following disciplinary proceedings over alleged breaches of the agency’s Code of Conduct.

In an official notice issued by the agency’s management, Essien was said to have been found culpable of serious offences, including theft, gross misconduct, insubordination and breach of public trust, after a thorough investigation.
The agency said the disciplinary action was taken in accordance with its established procedures and Code of Conduct.
Essien has been directed to immediately surrender all agency property in his possession and complete the required clearance process.
The agency added that, where applicable, the matter had been referred to the appropriate law enforcement authorities for further investigation and possible prosecution in accordance with the law.
The Abia State Homeland Security Agency reaffirmed its commitment to discipline, integrity, accountability and professionalism among its personnel.
It warned that acts capable of undermining public trust, violating its Code of Conduct or bringing the agency into disrepute would be dealt with through established disciplinary procedures and in accordance with applicable laws.
The agency assured residents of Abia State that it would continue to uphold high standards of discipline and professional conduct in carrying out its responsibilities and protecting the people of the state.
