2027: Isuikwuato LP Leaders Mobilise for Bourdex, Declare ‘Operation Win Your Polling Unit’
The Labour Party leadership and stakeholders in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State have thrown their weight behind the party’s candidate for Abia North Senatorial District, Chief Dr. David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex MFR, OON, assuring him of massive votes from the local government in the 2027 general elections.

The commitment was made during a strategic Labour Party meeting held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, in Umuasua, where 288 party leaders, stakeholders, political appointees, ward leaders, polling-unit leaders and other members gathered to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure ahead of the election.
A major highlight of the gathering was the reaffirmation of support for Bourdex as the Labour Party’s senatorial candidate for Abia North, with the leadership expressing confidence in the ability of the Isuikwuato structure to mobilise its members and deliver a substantial vote for him.
The Leader of the Isuikwuato LGA Labour Party, Kenneth Ahia, SAN, made the electoral assignment clear when he declared that the 2027 election would be “Operation Win Your Polling Unit.”
Ahia charged party leaders and members to take responsibility for their respective polling units and work relentlessly towards delivering the Labour Party’s candidates, stressing that Isuikwuato must demonstrate its political strength through the number of votes delivered at the polls.
He specifically expressed confidence that the local government would deliver an overwhelming 4/4 victory, placing Bourdex alongside the party’s other candidates as beneficiaries of the mobilisation.
Bourdex Gets Strong Grassroots Backing
For Bourdex, the declaration represents a significant mobilisation boost as the party’s local government structure moves to consolidate support ahead of the senatorial contest.
The stakeholders reaffirmed their readiness to work at the grassroots to ensure that the Labour Party’s senatorial candidate secures a strong showing in Isuikwuato, while also committing to extending the same support to the party’s candidates contesting other positions.
Bourdex is seeking to represent Abia North Senatorial District under the Labour Party, with the Isuikwuato leadership positioning its grassroots network as a critical component of the campaign for the senatorial seat.
The message from the meeting was therefore not limited to the Senate race. Party leaders also reaffirmed their support for Governor Alex Chioma Otti OFR for Governor, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah for the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency and Hon. Lucky Udoka Nweke Johnson for the Isuikwuato State Constituency.
‘No Vote Should Be Lost’
The member representing Isuikwuato State Constituency, Hon. Lucky Udoka Nweke Johnson, reinforced the mobilisation message, insisting that no vote should be lost in the 2027 election.
Lucky urged the party’s grassroots leaders to demonstrate the political strength of Isuikwuato by delivering massive votes for the Labour Party candidates.
His position aligns with the broader 4/4 agenda adopted at the meeting, under which party members are expected to work collectively to deliver victory for Bourdex and the other Labour Party candidates.
Also speaking on behalf of political appointees from Isuikwuato, Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Dr Salome Obiukwu, called for stronger grassroots mobilisation and warned party members against distractions.
She urged voters to reject temporary inducements during elections, particularly the practice of using rice and other cheap items to influence voters, stressing the importance of making electoral choices based on the long-term interests of the people.
The stakeholders also expressed support for the development strides recorded across Abia State under Governor Otti, commending the administration’s projects and reforms while urging the people to sustain the development momentum.
With the Isuikwuato Labour Party structure now setting its sights on a coordinated polling-unit operation, the endorsement of Bourdex has added fresh momentum to the party’s Abia North senatorial campaign.
For the party leaders, the objective is clear: mobilise massively, win every polling unit possible and deliver Bourdex and the other Labour Party candidates with an overwhelming vote in 2027.
