Abia NDC Rekindles ‘Obi Wave’ Slogan Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Abia State Chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has rekindled the “Obi Wave” slogan, which gained widespread popularity among Nigerian voters during Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign as the Labour Party candidate.

The slogan was revived by the party’s Abia North Senatorial candidate for the 2027 elections, Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole, during the party’s zonal stakeholders’ and candidates’ meeting held at Onuaku, Isuikwuato, the country home of the party’s Abia State governorship candidate, Chief Ndubuisi Etugo Ogah.

Nkole, who emphasised the need for cohesion, discipline and unity within the party to secure victory in the forthcoming elections, stated that Peter Obi remains one of the NDC’s major selling points.

He expressed confidence that the “Obi Wave” would be fully felt again during the 2027 general elections, urging party members and supporters to remain united and committed to the party’s political objectives.
