‘Igbos are very Nice People’ – First Lady Tinubu Says, Launches ₦500m Food Bank in Anambra
First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has lauded the people of the South-East, describing the Igbo as “very nice people” during her visit to Anambra State on Thursday.

Tinubu said this while speaking at the launch of the National Community Food Bank Programme in the South-East.
The First Lady recalled her close relationship with Igbo people, noting that her best friend in secondary school was an Igbo girl.
“Igbos are very nice people. My best friend in secondary school was an Igbo girl. In high school and tertiary institution, they were all Igbo because they said I look like an Igbo girl,” she said.
As part of the launch, Tinubu presented a ₦500 million cheque to Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and his wife, Dr Nonye Soludo, for beneficiaries of the National Community Food Bank Programme.
During the visit, the First Lady was conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title “Ugoeze Anambra” in recognition of her visit and activities in the state.
The programme is part of the Federal Government’s broader effort to support vulnerable Nigerians through food assistance and community-based interventions.
