‘Who Is Bola Tinubu?’ – Aisha Yesufu Dismisses Tinubu, Backs Obi for 2027
Activist Aisha Yesufu has dismissed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as no match for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate in 2027, Peter Obi, describing the President’s public confidence as a facade for fear.

Speaking on the road to the 2027 general elections with Seun Okinbaloye at Channels Television’s Programme Politics Today on Thursday, Yesufu was asked whether she believed Obi was a match for Tinubu.
Her response was blunt: “Who is Bola Tinubu?”
According to her, Tinubu “is not who he thinks he is, and he knows it,” adding that the President’s perceived bravado was merely “Cho Cho.”
She said: “If you have the opportunity to interview Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu, look into his eyes, and I tell you, what you see is fear.”
Yesufu also said the major lesson from the 2023 presidential election was the need to closely monitor the electoral process rather than rely on institutions to deliver credible elections.
She disclosed that supporters would track election materials and results from the polling units through the various collation levels up to Abuja.
“We are going to follow the votes from polling units, to the ward collation centre, to LG, to the state, and all the way to Abuja,” she said.
“There is no time that any ballot paper, ballot box, result sheet, or individual will be out of our sight. We will follow them using bikes, boats, or by air. If they’re coming on a private jet, we will use an alternative private jet to go with them.”
The Peter Obi supporter further alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had realised it had lost public support and was attempting to instil fear in Nigerians.
“The APC has seen that they have been rejected all across the country; that’s why they are doing everything they can to instil fear in people, but the people are no longer afraid,” she said.
Yesufu also expressed distrust in institutions involved in the electoral process, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and the judiciary.
She praised Obi for what she described as courage, particularly his decision to visit Yelwata, saying Tinubu had not visited the community during the previous occasion.
“There is no politician in Nigeria who is as courageous as Mr Peter Gregory Obi,” Yesufu said.
She added that she would be present at polling units during the 2027 election, stressing that citizens should not simply allow institutions to undermine their votes.
