“Champion Political Evangelism” – Hon. Chidi Nnamdi Says, Inaugurates Community Youth and Women Leaders Across 69 Obingwa Communities

The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) candidate for the Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Hon. Chidi Nnamdi, has inaugurated community coordinators, youth leaders and women leaders across the 69 communities in Obingwa Local Government Area.

The event, which brought together ward coordinators, community leaders and other political stakeholders, was chaired by the ZLP candidate for Obingwa West State Constituency, Hon. Obinna Nwabiaraije (Omaraeme).

In his remarks, Nwabiaraije urged the newly inaugurated leaders to remain active and committed to their responsibilities, charging them to take the message of the ZLP to the grassroots and engage residents across their respective communities.

He described the political arrangement as a coalition, stressing that political parties should be seen as vehicles through which individuals seek public office. He therefore encouraged voters to look beyond party labels and consider the credibility, character, competence and track record of individual candidates when making their electoral choices.

Nwabiaraije also expressed confidence in Hon. Chidi Nnamdi’s candidacy, describing him as a candidate whose political engagement is centred on the interests of the people. He said he believed Nnamdi would seek to bring representation closer to the people if elected to the Federal House of Representatives.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Chidi Nnamdi charged the newly inaugurated community, youth and women leaders to become ambassadors of the ZLP across the 69 communities in Obingwa.

He urged them to take the party’s message to the grassroots, engage residents and mobilise people in their respective communities. He described the assignment as a form of “political evangelism,” urging the coordinators to communicate the campaign’s message with commitment and responsibility.

Nnamdi further announced that he would commence his community-to-community tour of Obingwa in the coming days, noting that the tour would provide an opportunity to interact directly with residents and engage communities across the local government.

He also disclosed that Prince Paul Ikonne, the APC Senatorial Candidate for Abia South, would participate in the community tour. Nnamdi used the occasion to call attention to Ikonne’s candidacy, expressing his belief that he would bring renewed attention to the development aspirations of the people of Abia South if elected.

Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated community coordinators, one of the coordinators assured the gathering that they would take the responsibility seriously and extend their grassroots engagement to communities and villages across Obingwa.

The coordinator pledged that the team would work collectively to communicate the political message, engage residents and fulfil the assignment entrusted to them.

The event attracted several political stakeholders and notable personalities from across Obingwa, who participated with enthusiasm as the campaign structure continues to expand at the grassroots including Mr. Samuel Okoro, the Obingwa LG chairman of ZLP and the 11 Ward chairmen.

The inauguration represents another phase of the campaign’s community-level engagement, with emphasis on grassroots mobilisation, political evangelism, coalition-building and consideration of individual credibility in the choice of candidates.
