33-Year-Old Man Arrested for Writing FCT Promotion Examination for Father
A 33-year-old man, Monsuru Musa, has been arrested for allegedly impersonating his father, Musa Mohammed, during the ongoing promotion examination organised by the FCT Civil Service Commission.
Monsuru was reportedly caught on Wednesday, the third day of the examination, while writing the promotion examination on behalf of his father, who works with the FCT Fire Service.
The examination was being conducted at the premises of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), the designated venue for the exercise.
According to reports, Monsuru told security personnel deployed at the instance of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, that his father was sick but was within the NOUN premises. He allegedly said his father had directed him to sit for the examination on his behalf.
During questioning, Monsuru reportedly put his father’s age at between 67 and 68 years. However, Musa Mohammed gave a different account, claiming that he would turn 60 in February 2027.
The discrepancy reportedly prompted further questioning. Mohammed told the authorities that he completed primary school in 1977 and secondary school in 1982.
Following the incident, both father and son were handed over to the police for further investigation after making statements to operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).
