Odumeje Blasts FG Over Celebration of Existing Onitsha Head Bridge, Says “Holy Ghost Will Kpai You”
Popular Anambra-based cleric, Pastor Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has criticised the Federal Government and those celebrating the rehabilitation of the Onitsha Head Bridge, describing it as unacceptable to celebrate the maintenance of infrastructure originally built decades ago.
Odumeje, in a viral video, questioned the rationale behind celebrating the bridge, which he said had served the South-East for several decades, while presenting it on social media as though it were a newly constructed project.
He said, “If I see any of you at Onitsha Head Bridge celebrating that you maintained a 1950s bridge for the South-East, Holy Ghost will kpaiii you there.”
According to the cleric, Nigeria should be building modern infrastructure rather than celebrating the rehabilitation of facilities constructed many decades ago.
“Imagine someone celebrating the car that he parked for over 50 years after repainting it,” he said, using the analogy to question the celebration surrounding the bridge.
Odumeje also criticised excessive government publicity around the project, saying the manner in which the bridge was being showcased online could give the impression that it was newly constructed.
He expressed concern over the state of infrastructure in the country and questioned how much public money had been spent over the years without commensurate development.
The cleric further urged Nigerians to “wake up” and demand accountability from their leaders, stressing that public resources should be used to provide meaningful development for citizens.
Odumeje also used the occasion to express support for Nnamdi Kanu, describing him as someone fighting for freedom and insisting that Nigerians should not forget him.
He called on Nigerians to avoid people who, according to him, speak against Kanu for selfish interests.
