International Day of the Girl Child: Chidi Nnamdi Calls for Greater Support, Opportunities for Girls

Hon. Chidi Nnamdi, the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) candidate for Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, has called for stronger commitment to the education, protection and empowerment of girls.

In a message marking the International Day of the Girl Child, Nnamdi stressed the need to create an environment where every girl can have her voice heard, access quality education, develop her talents and pursue her ambitions without discrimination or unnecessary barriers.

He said empowering girls goes beyond improving individual lives, noting that educated and supported girls are better positioned to strengthen their families, contribute to their communities and play meaningful roles in national development.

The ZLP candidate urged parents, government agencies and other stakeholders to work together to address challenges limiting girls’ opportunities and ensure they are provided with the support and resources needed to reach their full potential.

Nnamdi said every girl should be given the confidence to dream, the opportunity to succeed and the freedom to build a future filled with promise.
