Stop Complaining, Tinubu Will Win 2027 Without Rigging, Orji Kalu Says

The Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election without rigging, insisting that political officeholders and party stakeholders can secure his re-election without requiring the President to embark on extensive nationwide campaigns.

Kalu, who spoke while discussing plans for the nationwide campaign of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), said he would follow the council’s programme after its inauguration, clarifying that he was only a member and not its Director-General.

According to the former Abia State governor, his position was a personal opinion, adding that governors, senators, members of the House of Representatives, ministers and heads of government agencies could work together to deliver victory for Tinubu.

“For me, I don’t think it’s necessary for President Tinubu to keep running around campaigning for his re-election in 2027. We are field workers, and we are already doing that for him. President Tinubu will win without rigging,” he said.

Kalu explained that he had spent the past four weeks moving from one senatorial district to another, canvassing support for Tinubu and other political stakeholders.

He argued that the traditional style of organising large campaign rallies and relying heavily on electronic and print media was no longer as necessary, stressing that party supporters should focus on appreciating the President and communicating his achievements to Nigerians.

The senator acknowledged that Nigerians were still experiencing economic difficulties but maintained that Tinubu was working to stabilise the economy and ensure that the benefits of government policies reached the grassroots.

He also cited security challenges as part of the difficulties confronting the administration, expressing optimism that the government would overcome them.

Kalu further said he was encouraged by the support of state governors for Tinubu’s re-election bid, predicting that the President would secure a landslide victory in 2027.

He urged the opposition to stop questioning Tinubu’s prospects, while insisting that the ruling party would conduct its campaign and participate in the election according to the rules established by the relevant electoral authorities.
