ALM President Emeka Adiele Fires Back at Sam Nwogu Campaign, Denies Inducement Allegations

The President of the Asa Liberation Movement (ALM), Hon. Emeka Adiele, has debunked allegations made against him by the Sam Nwogu Campaign Organisation, accusing him of demanding financial inducement.

Hon. Adiele described the allegations as false and misleading, insisting that he never demanded financial inducement from the campaign organisation.

He also moved to set the record straight, responding to the claims and addressing issues surrounding the controversy.

MY RESPONSE TO CHIEF SAM NWOGU’S CAMPAIGN MEDIA TEAM AND SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT FOR FUTURE PURPOSES

Ordinarily, I would not have dignified what I consider the desperate antics of political attack dogs with a response. However, in the interest of transparency and to enable the general public to understand the circumstances surrounding the ongoing attempts to discredit my person and throw the Asa Liberation Movement (ALM) into disarray, I consider it necessary to set the records straight.

For the avoidance of doubt, my experience and dealings with Chief Sam Nwogu are outlined below:

1. Chief Sam Nwogu voluntarily promised to support the meetings of the Asa Liberation Movement beginning from September 2026. This offer, in my view, was an attempt to win the confidence and influence of the Movement’s leadership through financial inducement. He eventually provided such support on only three occasions: twice in September and once in October 2026.

For the purpose of verification, I have Charles Ehiemere Chidera and Sylvester Nwuju as witnesses who can attest to this development.

2. During one of his meetings with the leadership of ALM, Chief Sam Nwogu attempted to induce the leadership with an offer of ₦5,000,000 and a Sienna bus. I, alongside some other stakeholders, vehemently rejected the offer because we were not prepared to compromise the integrity, independence and collective interests of the Movement for personal or material benefits.

I subsequently informed Charles Samankwe in clear terms that I was not interested in the offer.

3. On the eve of ALM’s mock election exercise, Chief Sam Nwogu personally called me and offered ₦500,000 to influence the outcome of the exercise. I made it clear to him that I could not compromise the integrity of the process. However, I advised him that he was free to contact Charles Samankwe to help canvass support for his candidacy, particularly because Charles had already been working with him.

In the early hours of Saturday, 24th October 2026, Charles called me and disclosed that Chief Sam Nwogu had sent ₦1,000,000 for us to ensure his victory in the mock election.

My response was that Charles could go ahead and canvass support for Chief Nwogu, since we had openly declared that every stakeholder was entitled to canvass for his or her preferred candidate. Charles subsequently did so.

Unfortunately for Chief Nwogu, he lost the exercise to Engr. Adinigwe Ugochukwu Nwoke. I strongly believe that his inability to secure the endorsement through the established process contributed to the subsequent hostility and attempts to undermine the Movement’s leadership.

4. On the occasion Chief Sam Nwogu and Prince Ikonne visited ALM for consultation, Chief Nwogu sent ₦1,700,000, directing that ₦700,000 be used for preparations while ₦1,000,000 was meant for the transportation of members who attended the meeting.

Prince Ikonne subsequently added another ₦1,000,000, bringing the total transportation support to ₦2,000,000. The money was distributed among the attendees to facilitate their transportation.

These were the circumstances surrounding the financial arrangements for that particular consultation meeting.

5. During our meeting with Chief Sam Nwogu in Port Harcourt, Charles Samankwe informed him that before political discussions could commence, consultation fees had to be provided.

Approximately four days after the meeting, Charles gave me some money and explained that it was the consultation fee he had requested from Chief Sam Nwogu.

6. I first came in contact with Chief Sam Nwogu in March,2022 through Hon.Kingsley Enyite who requested that we make the platform of Asa Liberation Movement available to help improve and launder Sam Nwogu’s political image. Therefore, the attempt to rewrite the history of our relationship and portray him as someone who single-handedly established or sustained ALM is an unfortunate distortion of facts.

7.The claim that Chief Sam Nwogu was appointed a Life Patron of Asa Liberation Movement is absolutely false. At no point did the Movement, through its recognized leadership or general house, confer such a position on him.I challenge whoever made this claim to produce the resolution, appointment letter or any official document establishing such an appointment.

ALM is an organized political pressure group with established structures, not a personal property whose positions can be manufactured to suit individual political interests.

That, in its entirety, represents my personal experience and dealings with Chief Sam Nwogu. I have no hidden agenda, and I have no reason to distort the facts.

If Chief Sam Nwogu or his campaign media team has any evidence capable of contradicting any of the submissions above, I challenge them to make it public.

Any further damage on my person,I wouldn’t hesitate to institute legal action against the publishers and the writers, and also open the can of warm as a young man with the political history of Ukwa land from 2007 to date.

Enough should be enough.

I remain Hon. Emeka Adiele.
ALM President.
