Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has stated that the massacre of over forty people by terrorists in Sokoto market confirms the failure and hopelessness of the government.

On Monday, credible sources revealed that about 50 persons were killed while 17 were critically injured during a terror attack in Goronyo market square in Sokoto State on Sunday night.
It was also gathered that 7 vehicles were burnt with properties stolen and animals rustled during the attack.
Speaking on the attack, Senator Sani who recently decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, revealed that there was a heavy presence of the Army and Police when the attack happened.
“The massacre of over forty innocent people in Sokoto Market by terrorists despite the heavy presence of the Army and the police and other security outfits, and despite the shutdown of telecom in the state only further confirmed the failure and hopelessness of the Government.”
Recall that the Nigerian Army launched an offensive attack on bandits in Zamfara State while shutting down telecommunications, it has been opined that some of the fleeing bandits took residence in the forest of Sokoto State and caused the mayhem in the market.
