The Defence Headquarters has declared eight persons wanted in connection with the murder of 17 soldiers in Okuama Community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The soldiers were ambushed and killed while on a ‘peacekeeping’ mission in the community which the locals have denied as lies stating that the soldiers were in their community for intimidation in the land dispute between the community and Bomadi.

The residents also revealed that there was a reprisal attack by the soldiers, an allegation which has been denied vehemently by the Defence Headquarters warned that no level of propaganda will stop them from fishing out the culprit responsible for the death of the personnel attached to the 181 Amphibious Battalion.
Meanwhile, the soldiers have been buried at the National Cemetary in Abuja on Wednesday.
