Group Dismisses Defection Rumours, Reaffirms Uche Ogah’s Loyalty to APC
The Abia Rejoice Movement, has dismissed speculations suggesting that former governorship candidate Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah may be planning to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that the politician remains firmly committed to the party and its vision for Abia State.

In a statement released on Monday, the group described the rumours as unfounded, emphasising that Dr Ogah’s dedication to the party and the welfare of the people of Abia has remained consistent over the years.
According to the group, Dr Ogah has played a significant role in strengthening the APC’s structure in Abia and across the South-East, contributing time, influence, and personal resources to the growth of the party.
They also recalled his participation in the 2019 Abia State gubernatorial election, where he contested as the APC’s candidate, describing his decision to run as a demonstration of his belief in the party’s ideals and commitment to responsible governance.
The statement further noted that Dr Ogah’s leadership style is defined by patience, strategic planning, and discipline, stressing that his quiet approach to politics should not be misinterpreted as political withdrawal.
“His impact is evident in the strengthened structure and growing competitiveness of the APC in Abia State today,” the group said, adding that he remains a key figure in the party’s development in the state.
As political conversations gradually turn toward the 2027 Nigerian general election, the group said confidence in the APC within Abia continues to grow, attributing the progress to the foundation laid by leaders such as Dr Ogah.
The Abia Rejoice Movement reiterated that Dr Ogah remains firmly anchored in the APC and committed to advancing progressive leadership in Abia State.
