2027: Hon. Chidi Nnamdi Unveils ‘New Direction’ Agenda for Obioma–Ngwa Constituency

Hon. Chidi Nnamdi, the Zenith Labour Party candidate for the Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency, has unveiled his “New Direction Agenda 2027,” outlining a vision for what he describes as more purposeful, responsive and development-focused representation.

Nnamdi said his agenda would prioritise human capital development, economic empowerment, quality representation, legislative advocacy, education and skills development, healthcare support, infrastructure and federal presence, as well as accountability and transparency.

According to him, representation should “produce value, not merely visibility,” stressing that his proposed approach would focus on measurable outcomes, continuous engagement with constituents and the use of legislative and institutional channels to advance the interests of the constituency.

His full statement reads;

MY VISION FOR A NEW DIRECTION IN REPRESENTATION FOR OBIOMA–NGWA CONSTITUENCY

I believe representation should produce value, not merely visibility.

For the Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency, my vision is to build a model of representation anchored on human development, economic productivity, effective legislative advocacy, institutional engagement and measurable outcomes.

If given the mandate to serve in the House of Representatives, I will structure my representation around eight defining priorities:

1. Human Capital Development

I will place our people at the centre of my development agenda, with particular attention to youths, artisans, traders and farmers whose productivity can strengthen our local economy and create sustainable opportunities.

2. Economic Empowerment

I will pursue practical opportunities for enterprise development, skills acquisition, business support and sustainable livelihoods, with the objective of helping our people become more economically productive, self-reliant and capable of creating opportunities for others.

3. Quality Representation

I will maintain a continuous relationship with the constituency, ensuring that representation does not begin and end with elections. My commitment will be to remain accessible, engaged and responsive to the people I represent.

4. Legislative Advocacy

I will use the legislative powers available to me to advance issues that directly affect the people of Obingwa, Osisioma and Ugwunagbo.

I will sponsor bills and motions aimed at addressing the needs, interests and development priorities of my constituents. I will also deploy legislative oversight, petitions, institutional engagement and other constitutional avenues to pursue matters requiring federal attention.

5. Education & Skills Development

I will advocate for greater access to learning opportunities, vocational training and practical skills that can translate into employment, entrepreneurship and economic independence for our young people and other members of the constituency.

6. Healthcare Support

I will support and facilitate interventions that improve access to essential healthcare assistance, particularly for vulnerable households and constituents who may struggle to meet critical medical needs.

7. Infrastructure & Federal Presence

I will actively pursue federal projects, programmes and institutional interventions that respond to clearly identified needs and bring tangible development to Obingwa, Osisioma and Ugwunagbo.

8. Accountability & Transparency

I will promote a culture of representation in which communication, responsiveness and public accountability remain central to the relationship between the representative and the people.

The New Direction Agenda 2027 is not simply a catalogue of promises. It represents a deliberate approach to rethinking what effective representation should mean: less ceremony, more substance; less episodic contact, more institutional engagement; and less rhetoric, more measurable purpose.

I believe the people of Obioma–Ngwa Federal Constituency deserve representation that is present, purposeful and responsive to their aspirations.

My ambition is to make representation a continuing instrument of human and economic development—one that creates opportunities, strengthens communities, advances the interests of the constituency through legislation, and gives our people a meaningful voice in the national legislative process.

This is the direction I seek to pursue.
