White Man Rescues Sea Turtle From Nigerian Traders Near Eko Hotel

A foreign man has been praised for rescuing a sea turtle from men allegedly attempting to sell it along the road near Eko Hotel in Lagos State.

According to a lady who witnessed the incident, the man stopped after noticing the men displaying the turtle for sale as though it were an ordinary commodity.

She said the foreigner made several attempts to stop the transaction, shouting, pleading and appealing to people around him, including police officers in uniform, to recognise that selling the sea creature was wrong.

Despite his appeals initially appearing unsuccessful, the man refused to give up on the animal.

He eventually paid the men to secure the turtle, not to keep it but to save its life and return it to its natural habitat.

With the assistance of a police van, the turtle was transported to the sea and safely released.
