Actor Chris Okagbue Shares His Battle With Inferiority
Actor Chris Okagbue has disclosed how he suffered from inferiority complex due to his set of teeth. He said that he went as far as smiling in front of the mirror to practise his smiling before working on any job that requires smiling.

When i was a kid, i was very shy and self-conscious. My dentition was far from the best and because of that, all my pictures whether personal or with family, i NEVER EVER smiled at allll.
As i grew older, my dentition gradually started to set itself just like that. I never used braces. I was happy, but my confidence level was still at ZERO.
I got into showbiz in 2004 as a model and most jobs i did required smiling. I struggled through them and managed to still get the job done. But something happened…

I started to get compliments from clients and colleagues i worked for/with about how contagious my smile was and that i should smile more often, and i thought to myself “hmm, maybe my smile wasn’t as bad as i feared it was”. At that point, i made a conscious decision to overcome that fear.
For years, I would literally stand in front of a mirror and practise how to smile. Any of my siblings can testify to that. My confidence started to grow exponentially till it hit 💯. Today i get paid just to smile, something i evidently now enjoy doing.
So when u see me smiling upandan all the time like a fish 😂, there’s a whole lot more to it than just some guy flashing his 32. There’s a story of my dentition struggles as a kid, my personal battle to build my self-confidence and the inexplicable feeling of satifaction that i came out on top.
My teeth still isn’t perfect. I still have two “extra long and pointy” canines in my upper set like a vampire 🧛♂️😂. But the difference now is that I LOOOOOOVE THEM ❤.
My very simple prayer for you this Sunday morning is this…
MAY YOU HAVE THE CONFIDENCE TO NOT ONLY FACE BUT ALSO DEFEAT ANY FEARS YOU HAVE, AND MAY EVERYTHING THAT HAS EVER BEEN A DISADVANTAGE TO YOU IN YOUR LIFE TURN AROUND AND BECOME YOUR BIGGEST ASSET, IN JESUS NAME, AMEN.
