Two Lekki Robbery Suspects Arrested By the Police in Lagos

Two members of a notorious robbery gang for terrorizing residents of LagosState’s Lekki area met their Waterloo shortly after they had robbed two residents. A team of detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer, Maroko Police Station, CSP Isah Abdulmajid, arrested the suspects, #Adebayo Ayomide, and Isaac David.

The team started a crime prevention patrol on Saturday, March 9, 2019, around 9 pm along #Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge. They came into contact with two young women, Gbemi and Hannah, who seemed to be in a panic in the course of their duty. After questioning, they explained to the team that the suspects at gunpoint had just dispossessed them of their phones.

They pointed to the direction the bandits fled on a motorcycle, and they were given a hot chase by the police. The team tracked the suspects and their single-barrelled gun, cutlass and telephone were found on them when they were searched. The items were recovered and custody of the criminals. They belonged to a syndicate terrorizing Lekki and its surroundings in their confessional statements.

The state police commissioner, CP Zubairu Muazu mni, ordered the case to be transferred to the command’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad for further investigation, commending the police team for a swift response to the crime and the eventual arrest of the perpetrators. The CP assured residents of the command state’s commitment to securing life and property in each state nook and cranny.
