Abiriba Community commends Ikpeazu, congratulates him on his Supreme Court victory

The people of Abiriba Kingdom in Ohafia LGA of Abia State have commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his peaceful disposition in leadership as well as support for the rapid development of their community in particular and Abia State in general.

Speaking during the handover of additional recognition documents for two traditional rulers of the community, HRH Benjamin Uche (Effa of Agboji) and HRH Eme Uguru Ikpoka (Ugbaghari of Amaogudu), at Nde Oko-ogo Royal Compound, Amaeke Abiriba, the first Deputy Chairman of Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers and Enachioken of Abiriba, HRM Eze Kalu Kalu Ogbu (IV) thanked the Governor for his timely intervention in the request for protocol recognition for the two traditional rulers.

According to him, “The people of Abiriba appreciate the love and kindness of Otuba Okwojie (Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, PhD) for the expeditious and favorable handling of our request to recognize Effah and Ukpaghari and offer them all necessary official courtesies as traditional rulers of Agboji and Amaogudu Abiriba communities respectively. Only someone who loves Abiriba people will handle the matter the way he has done, without delay, thereby saving us from avoidable conflict.

“We also wish to use this opportunity to congratulate him on his well deserved victory at the Supreme Court and assure him that our people are solidly behind him and his administration. While we thank him immensely for the construction of Ugwu Ezi Road which has lasted for more than 3 years without spotting, we also wish to use this opportunity to plead that he directs the contractor to return to site and complete the Agboji end of the road.”

Presenting the recognition document issued by the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the state Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, expressed appreciation to the Enachioken-in-Council for ensuring lasting peace and unity in the community and called on the people to support them to take the community to higher levels. He informed that the Governor will soon unfold his plan for infrastructural facelift of the kingdom which he said is at the centre of the Governor’s heart.

In their respective remarks, Eze Benjamin and Eze Ikpoka thanked the Governor, his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu and members of the community, for the recognition and assured they will always protect the customs and traditions of the people. They further appealed to members of the community to continue to see themselves as one indivisible people from same father and contribute to the rapid development of the area.
