Enyimba Economic City: Police Kills One, Injures Others In Ukwa West

The people have been thrown into great mourning as the youth president of Umunwogu, a kindred of Ugwuati in Ukwa West, Nwakanma Ogbuji, was shot and killed by a team of Security Officers today.

According to an anonymous person, the youths of Ugwuati Community refused that their land should be included in the Enyimba Economic city and this resulted to an argument between the team and the youths which led to the policemen shooting at them.

He said; “The Enyimba Economic city team came to the village to inspect a place they wanted to include in the building of Enyimba City but the youths in the village stopped them from entering the village.”

“This resulted in an argument and the policemen who came with the team started shooting sporadically and killed the youth president while four were seriously injured and recuperating at an undisclosed hospital.”

At the time of this report, several attempts to reach the Commissioner for Information, Abia State, Chief John Okiyi failed.
