Man Calls Off Engagement Over High Cost of Brideprice

A Nigerian man identified as Anderson has called off his engagement to his girlfriend over the high cost of bride price.

The lady shared the screenshot of the chat between her and her fiance, while also sharing a screenshot of the bride price.

The man told his girlfriend that her family is stopping her from getting married.

He further asked if they were selling while finally telling her that he cannot continue with the relationship and told her to find someone who can pay the exorbitant price to her family as he cannot.

Most communities in Nigeria place a price tag on their female children while most do not believe in the high cost of bride price and so makes their in-law pay less to marry their child.
