Maid Brutality: Bail Denied, Couple Remanded in Prison

Couple Ifeoma and Jude Ozougwu who were arrested for brutalising a 10-year-old girl Nneoma Nnadi in Enugu State has been denied bail and remanded at the Nsukka prison.

They were charged with attempted murder and the Magistrate ordered that the case file be transferred to the DPP’s office since he does not have jurisdiction in at least 2 of the counts.

Counsel for the defendants made an application for bail citing the fact that the couple has little children who need their attention.

But Bail was denied and they were remanded at the Nsukka Prison pending the filing of information by the DPP at the High Court.

The matter has been adjourned to the 10th of August.

The wife revealed that it was her husband who did those acts namely: drilling nails into the victim’s head, putting a pepper mixture in her vagina, using hot iron on her buttocks and several other brutal acts. Husband denies it.

The victim is still at the hospital fighting for her life.
