Teen Siblings Caught Trying to Kidnap Infant for Reward
A disturbing case of attempted child abduction has rocked a residential compound in Enugu State after a woman, Micheal Munachi Jennifer, caught her two children, aged 17 and 10, attempting to steal her baby from their home.
The shocking incident occurred when the siblings, who live upstairs in the same compound, reportedly used a spare key to access Jennifer’s balcony and gain entry into her parlour. It was during this intrusion that they allegedly attempted to carry away her infant before being caught.
According to Jennifer, the older child later confessed that they were promised a sum of ₦50,000 by an unidentified “brother” if they could deliver a “new baby.”
The alleged instigator of the plot and the 17-year-old boy have been taken into custody and are currently being held at an army barracks pending further investigation.
Meanwhile, the caretaker of the compound has issued a one-week eviction notice to the children’s family, citing the growing fears and safety concerns expressed by other residents.
