COVID-19: Economy is too Fragile for a Lockdown – Buhari Warns
President Muhammadu Buhari has warned against a second wave of COVID-19 stating that the country’s economy was too fragile to bear another lockdown.
President Muhammadu Buhari has warned against a second wave of COVID-19 stating that the country’s economy was too fragile to bear another lockdown.

He said this on his official Twitter page disclosing the trends in other countries and advised citizens to do all to avert another wave of the pandemic.

He wrote, ‘Looking at the trends in the other countries, we must do all we can to avert a second wave of Covid-19 in Nigeria. We must make sure that our cases, which have gone down, do not rise again. Our economy is too fragile to bear another round of lockdown.’

Recall that the country locked down following the outbreak of COVID-19 in the world which started from Wuhan, China.
Nigeria tried to curtail the spread by locking down the country and providing palliative to citizens to cushion the effect of the virus.
