APC Debunks Rumour of Defection, Says It’s a Desperate Attempt by PDP

Following the report made by the the Abia State PDP Chairman, Hon. Asiforo Okere where he claimed over 3,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA have decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the APC have debunked the rumour.

In a story published by AFNews, the Abia State Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress, Comrade Benedict C. Godson has come out to describe it as a moonlight tales.

Asiforo stated that it was a calculated and theatrical attempt to indirectly plead with the minds of the remaining uncomfortable members of the PDP in the state not to dump the party.

In his statement, Comrade Godson challenged Hon. Asiforo Okere to immediately produce the names of the prominent APC leaders that took their followers into PDP as contained in his fictitious, in-existent and ghost-mode 3,000 persons he claimed, noting that APC is ready to mention those of PDP and other parties’ members that recently dumped their parties for the APC, which include Dr Alex Otti, a strong force in APGA, the immediate past Organizing Secretary of SDP, Hon. Emeka Atoma, and a serving member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Hon. Sam Onuigbo and their numerous followers.

Others include former commissioners of the PDP government, Chief Henry Ikoh, Obinna, Oriaku and Hon. Allen Ugochukwu and their followers among other notable Abia Politicians.

He maintained that it is very clear that National Assembly members and many State Assembly members in the state under the auspices of the PDP are gearing towards joining the APC as he labelled the PDP in the Abia State as a collapsing party engaged in fabrications of laughable stories full of self-deceit.
