We can’t achieve Igbo presidency, justice without APC – Uzodimma

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has hinged the actualization of a Nigeria president of Igbo extraction to people of the zone massively joining the mainstream national political party, being the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Uzodimma made this assertion during the South-east stakeholders meeting of the party held at the parliament of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, Mbari Street, Owerri, Imo State. The stakeholders meeting was said to serve as flag-off of the party registration and revalidation exercise.

“Even more importantly, we cannot get the justice we seek from the federation by playing opposition politics. We can reverse the narrative if we resolve to do so now. The starting point is from this party registration exercise”.

He challenged the stakeholders to ensure they register not less than 70 percent of eligible adults in their various wards as members of APC. He assured that there is enough materials to go round.

The Imo State governor made it clear that there are lots of benefits to derive from belonging to the mainstream political party which he said Imo State has benefited immensely.

“Perhaps I need to mention here that Imo State is already reaping bountifully from being part of the ruling party, the attendant proper reconnection to the national grid. Am sure you observed as you entered Owerri that Imo State has been turned into a huge construction site.

“When we took over I noted with dismay the sorry state of our roads in the state. Consequently I did not hesitate to declare a state of emergency on roads including federal roads. I was emboldened to do so because of the understanding I have with Mr President, Muhammadu Buhari and the mutual trust we share, which can only exist among members of the same political family.

“Today, the Owerri – Orlu and Owerri Okigwe roads which are both federal roads are being constructed by a world class construction company Cremburg. The Assumpta Portharcourt Road and Owerri-Aba Road, again are also federal roads and also undergoing a massive reconstruction.

“All these are possible because of the tacit, physical, overt and covert support we are getting from the federal government. These are the ones the eyes can see, but I can tell you without fear of any contradiction that by belonging to the ruling party and having the confidence of the president and the party, we are benefiting everything”.
