Breaking News! INEC to Commence Voter’s Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission will commence its voter’s registration on Monday 28th of June, 2021.

This was made known by the INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, in a statement released on Thursday, the 1st of April, 2021.

It stated that the registration was delayed due to the post-election preoccupation particularly the elections held in 2019.

INEC further explained that there was a need to create systems that will ensure safer CVR exercise in line with the COVID-19 pandemic which led it to create an online registration portal for new registrants to begin registration.

It also revealed that there was a need to expand voting centres and citizens access to it and also introduce new voter registration equipment and technology.
