Imo State Police who arrested former governorship aspirants Ugwumba Uche Nwosu in the most uncivilized way has stated that he was ‘arrested and not kidnapped’ as many assumed while watching the arrest.

In a viral video, Uche Nwosu was kidnapped outside St Peter’s Anglican Church Eziama Obieri in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State during the Thanksgiving of his late mother Jemimah Nwosu who was buried on Friday, the 24th December 2021.
The policemen who were in an Armoured Personnel Carrier shot indiscriminately in the air thereby scaring away people before whisking away Nwosu, who is the son-in-law of the former governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
However, the spokesperson for the state police command, Michael Abattam, told SaharaReporters that Nwosu was arrested and not kidnapped.
“Yes, I can confirm to you that he was arrested and not kidnapped. Don’t worry, I will soon release a press statement on it,” he said.
The police did not state the reason for the arrest but said that a press release will be released soon.
