The Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, has subjected the officer who leaked a video of the former Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano in its custody to disciplinary action.

A video of the former Governor who was arrested on the 18th of March 2022 at the Murtala Muhammad Airport in Lagos State on his way to the USA circulated online on Saturday.
Meanwhile, EFCC has not made any official statement on why it arrested Mr Obiano but granted him administrative bail which the former governor is yet to meet.

Speaking on the viral video, EFCC wrote, “The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been drawn to a trending video showing the former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano in the custody of the Commission.
The Commission wishes to distance itself from the said video which is completely at variance with the established Standard Operating Procedure of the EFCC.
