The Councillor representing Urban Ward 5 in Umuahia North Local Government Area, Honourable Andrew Enyinnaya Uwaga, yesterday expressed appreciation to women of his immediate community in Ohobo Okwulaga Afaraukwu in Umuahia North LGA of Abia State for the support they gave him when he was running for the last council election in the State.
Hon Uwaga while presenting gifts of bags of rice and tomato paste to the women in the community hall said he appreciated their support and that without their backing he would not have won the election. He therefore urged them to keep faith with the LG as he would do everything to continue to protect and promote their interests in the council, promising them that better days were ahead.
Responding, the women who could not hide their joy extolled the Councillor for his service to the Ward so far especially as it concerns the women urging him not to rest on his oars but to continue to render selfless service to the people. Amid songs of praise, they prayed for him and wished him success in his endeavours.
