A 10-year-old boy Kamsiyo Sunday popularly known as Kamsi has been rescued by Police Operatives serving in Nsukka Area Command of Enugu State Police Command on Monday, 27th of March 2023.

Acting on credible information, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe revealed that Kamsi had been abducted from his parent’s home at Ukwuinyi Ogrute in Enugu-Ezike community of Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, on 26/03/2023 at about 4 pm, by four armed and masked men, operating in a black-colored Pick Truck Vehicle and taken to an unknown destination.

However, Kamsi was found at ‘Nsukka, along MCC Road by Umanu Junction, where he was abandoned by his abductors due to pressure mounted on them.’

‘He has been reunited with his parents and family members,’ the statement reads.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Ammani, FDC, has ordered that the ongoing discreet investigation into the case be intensified to fish out and bring the perpetrators of the act to book. He notes that such a horrifying act of abduction of the minor, as shown in a viral video, is highly intolerable and shall not be treated lightly.

Kamsi was abducted on Sunday from his home after a viral video of the boy calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
