Presidency to Nigerians “Find Something Else to Augment Your Income”
The Presidency has advised Nigerians to seek additional sources of income, stating that relying on a single income is insufficient given the current economic challenges in the country.
The Presidency has advised Nigerians to seek additional sources of income, stating that relying on a single income is insufficient given the current economic challenges in the country.

This statement was made by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, during an interview with Channels TV on Tuesday.
He emphasized, “Find something else to augment your income. You cannot live on one income.”
Onanuga further explained that the current administration inherited numerous issues from the previous government and is implementing measures to improve the country’s economy, as indicated by recently published data from the National Bureau of Statistics.

He also lauded the acknowledgement by Ibrahim Babangida in his autobiography, *A Journey in Service*, that MKO Abiola won the 1993 presidential election. However, Onanuga disagreed with former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s assertion during the book review event at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja that Babangida was a tormentor of President Bola Tinubu.
Osinbajo had recalled how Tinubu, then a senator, opposed the military government’s dissolution of the Senate following the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election.
Onanuga responded, saying, “I think the former Vice President got it wrong. I believe Babangida was not really a tormentor of President Tinubu. Don’t forget that President Tinubu himself noted in his speech that he viewed Babangida as an inspiration for his entry into politics.”
He explained further that when Babangida came to power, he was advocating for new breed politicians, and many, including Tinubu, who were already established in business or as technocrats, decided to participate in politics.
According to Onanuga, this was what brought them into the political arena, and Tinubu came to pay homage to Babangida.
