2027: Umo Eno Drums Support for Tinubu, Says He Will Complete 8 Years

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has assured President Bola Tinubu of the State’s support for his reelection in 2027.

“Let me conclude by assuring our President Bola Tinubu, our people-loving president, that he will complete eight years in office because we are going to stand by him,” the Governor stated.

Speaking at the launch of the construction of a 65 km, 3-lane dual carriageway in the State on Tuesday, the Governor emphasized that his support for the President is critical, as a future leader may not complete the project.

“Our prayer is for the good health of Mr. President so he can finish the work he has started and officially commission it, preventing any abandonment. This project will not end up like the East-West Road, which has remained unfinished for so long. This one will be completed, and the hand that started it will be the one to commission it.”

He noted that the government of Akwa Ibom State will continue to collaborate with President Tinubu’s administration, as he has shown support across party lines, and the state aims to work with him similarly.

The Governor also expressed gratitude to the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, for expediting the flag-off of the road project, which has been a significant bottleneck in the state.

“I want to thank you, the Honourable Minister, for your intervention on the Calabar-Itu highway. Thankfully, you travelled the road and witnessed its condition. Four hours on the road was manageable, but at times, it stretched to eight hours. I’m glad you experienced it firsthand and were able to address the issue immediately.”

He assured the contractor handling the project that he would be available to cooperate and ensure the project’s successful realization in the state. “We will be working with Hi-Tech, and I will be in touch with the Managing Director regularly. We have been informed that after the Easter celebration, you will mobilize. I’ve been told you are the only company that works before payment is made perhaps that’s at the federal level,” he added.
