In a bid to raise the standard of broadcast journalism in the country, the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters (SNB) organized an intensive workshop focused on the critical skills required for live interviews.

The session, themed “LIVE INTERVIEWS FOR BROADCAST MEDIA”, brought together veteran journalists, aspiring broadcasters, and media professionals to dissect the essentials of impactful, real-time interviews.
During the masterclass, the resource person, Sir Chimdi Oluoha, emphasized that every interview must have a clear purpose, and all questions should revolve around this to ensure relevance and depth.

The art of crafting short, direct, and subject-focused questions was highlighted as a major tool in eliciting valuable insights from guests.
“Live interviews are powerful but risky. Once a moment is missed, there’s no going back,” speaker stated.
Broadcasters were urged to maintain complete control of their environment, remain fully alert, and command the session without overshadowing their guests.
The Chairman, SNB, Abia State chapter Comrade Chinezerem.Agbakuru reaffirmed the commitment of the organisation to continuous training for media professionals, ensuring Nigerian broadcasters uphold the highest standards of ethics, accuracy, and professionalism.
