The clergyman, identified as Reverend Mimang Lekyil, was fatally shot around 9:30 p.m. in his home in the Kwakas community. His wife, Janet Mimang, sustained gunshot wounds to her leg during the assault and was immediately rushed to Dung Clinic for urgent medical attention.
According to local sources who spoke to this reporter, the assailants specifically targeted the couple inside their residence. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.

Police officers from the Plateau State Command responded swiftly to the incident, securing the scene and taking photographic evidence as part of an ongoing investigation. The body of the late reverend has been deposited at the Luna Hospital Morgue in Bokkos for an autopsy.
Authorities have since launched a manhunt for the attackers and called on community members to assist with relevant information.
The police also urged residents to stay vigilant and support efforts to restore peace in the troubled area.
