University of Jos Reschedules Exams After Deadly Angwan Rukuba Attack Which Left Over 20 Dead
The University of Jos Plateau State has announced the rescheduling of examinations earlier slated for March 30 and 31, following the recent deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The decision comes in the wake of the violent incident that left over 20 residents dead and others injured.
In a statement issued by the institution, management said the move was necessary to ensure the safety of students and staff, many of whom were affected directly or indirectly by the attack.
The attack, which occurred on the night of Palm Sunday in parts of Jos, left more than a dozen people dead. Eyewitness accounts say gunmen invaded a community in the Angwa Rukuba area, shooting residents and attacking others with machetes in what has been described as a gruesome assault.
Residents who visited the scene expressed shock at the scale of the violence, with many families left grieving the loss of loved ones. Victims reportedly included men, women, and young people, sparking outrage among community members.
In the viral video seen by Newsleverage, the bodies of victims were returned from the hospital dead as residents ran around screaming and looking for loved ones who had gone missing during the attack.

Meanwhile, the Plateau State Government has ordered a 48-hour curfew in Jos North Local Government Area
The press release reads;
Following the tragic security incident that occurred at Gari Ya Waye community Angwan Rukuba today Sunday 29th March 2028 resulting in the loss of lives, while several others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
The Plateau State Government in conjunction with security agencies wishes to inform the general public of the imposition of a 48-hour curfew within Jos North Local Government Area with immediate effect, commencing from 12 midnight of 29th March, to 1st April, 2026.
Commissioner for information Joy Lce Ramnap in a press Statement said the government under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang strongly condemns this barbaric and unprovoked attack on innocent citizens and assures the public that all necessary measures are being taken to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
Citizens are urged to remain calm, stay vigilant, and cooperate fully with security agencies by providing any useful information that may aid ongoing investigations.
