Troops Rescue Two Kidnap Victims, Neutralise Two Suspects
Troops of Sector 2, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have successfully rescued two kidnapped victims and neutralised two suspected kidnappers during a clearance operation in Kanam Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to sources cited by Zagazola Makama, the mission was launched following reports of an abduction along the Wanka–Dengi road in Kanam LGA. Acting on intelligence, the troops tracked a relative of one of the victims who had been instructed by the kidnappers to deliver ransom money at a location known as Madam Forest.
The troops reportedly encountered the abductors at the drop-off point, sparking a gunfight that led to the elimination of two armed bandits, while others managed to flee into the forest.

The rescued victims were identified as Muhammadu Sani, 27, and Ibrahim Mamman, 26.
Recovered items from the scene included a pump-action gun, a locally fabricated rifle, eight cartridges, a knife, a mobile phone, and ₦289,000 in cash, the ransom sum that had been placed for collection.
The rescued individuals have since been reunited with their families, while the recovered weapons and money are now in military custody.
Troops have intensified follow-up operations to track down the remaining members of the kidnapping syndicate.
