Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie Visits Mbah, Presents Autographed Copy of New Book ‘Dream Count’
Renowned Nigerian author and global literary icon, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, paid a memorable visit to the Enugu State Government House, where she was warmly received by Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
During the visit, Adichie presented the governor with an autographed copy of her latest book, Dream Count, which has been hailed as a powerful addition to her distinguished literary portfolio. The visit was marked by celebration and reflection on the significance of Adichie’s contributions to literature and African storytelling.
Governor Mbah expressed his excitement and pride in hosting the award-winning author, describing her as “a formidable force of inspiration” whose work continues to challenge norms, address complex global issues, and champion African narratives.

“Her presence was a strong reminder of the greatness that lies within our people,” Governor Mbah said. “Adichie is not only a brilliant storyteller but also a proud ambassador of the Igbo culture who continues to elevate African voices on the world stage.”
Adichie’s visit was seen as both symbolic and inspiring, especially for a state and region deeply rooted in cultural heritage and literary excellence.
Governor Mbah, while thanking the author, fondly refers to her by her traditional title, “Odeluwa,” which means “the one who writes for the world.”
Chimamanda began a homecoming book tour on June 27 in Lagos, Abuja and Enugu, precisely leaving the message of hope, resilience and identity on its path.
