Catholic Diocese of Enugu Bars Church Facilities from Planned Pro-Tinubu, Mbah Endorsement Rally
The Catholic Diocese of Enugu has distanced itself from a planned political endorsement rally in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Enugu State Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, stating that it does not permit the use of its churches or other ecclesiastical facilities for partisan political activities.

In a statement issued in response to a media announcement currently circulating on Monday, the Diocese clarified that the proposed “Historic Endorsement Rally and Adoption Ceremony,” scheduled for Friday, July 3, 2026, at Jubilee Hall, Holy Ghost Cathedral, Enugu, does not have its approval.
The Diocese emphasized that since the event is intended to serve as a political endorsement gathering, it cannot be hosted within any of its facilities.
“Since the event is intended to serve as a political endorsement gathering, the Catholic Diocese of Enugu wishes to state that it does not permit the use of its churches, parish halls, or other ecclesiastical facilities for partisan political rallies,” the statement read.
