Full Names of Two Ministers, Six Others Killed in Ghana Helicopter Crash

A tragic helicopter crash in Ghana’s southern Ashanti region has claimed the lives of all eight people on board, including two senior government officials Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.

Others include; the Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Vice Chairman NDC Dr Samuel Sarpong, Former Parliamentary Candidate Obuasi East Mr Samuel Aboagye, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Twum Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo.

The devastating news was confirmed by Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff to President John Mahama, in a statement released on Wednesday. The helicopter was reportedly on an official mission when it went down under still-unclear circumstances.

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the crash, and investigations are currently underway.

President Mahama is expected to address the nation later today. The loss of the ministers has sent shockwaves through the government and the country at large.
