‘Northern Leaders Failed to Address Region’s Challenges Despite Holding Power’ – Sani

Former Senator representing Kaduna Central Shehu Sani, has issued a scathing critique of past and present political leaders from northern Nigeria, accusing them of squandering opportunities to develop the region.

Speaking on the state of the North in a viral video, Sani condemned what he described as the hypocrisy of individuals who frequently speak about the region’s problems but do little to resolve them when they are in positions of power.

“Most of these people talking about northern Nigeria this, northern Nigeria that, had the opportunity to transform northern Nigeria and failed,” Sani stated.

“They failed in the area of education, they failed in the area of health, they failed in the area of infrastructure, they failed in the area of security.”

He went further to point fingers at former ministers, governors, and senior officials in federal departments and agencies, arguing that they had access to resources and influence yet made no tangible impact on poverty and underdevelopment in the region.

“They had the opportunity, the resources to do that, and they failed,” he added.
