Abia Govt. Announces Mandatory Training for Newly Recruited Teachers
The Abia State Government, through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, has announced a six-day capacity-building training program for newly recruited teachers in the state’s public education system.
According to a press release signed by the Honourable Commissioner, Elder Goodluck Chinedu Ubochi, the training will be held in two phases.
The first phase, targeting teachers deployed under the Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) Primary section, is scheduled to take place from August 25 to 30, 2025. The second phase, for ASUBEB Junior and Secondary Education Management Board (SEMB) Senior Secondary teachers, will follow from September 1 to 6, 2025.
The training will be conducted simultaneously at two designated centres: Abayi Girls Secondary School, Umuocham, Aba and Federal Government Girls Secondary School, Umuahia.
All participating teachers are required to visit the official training portal to select their preferred training centre and download their admit cards before the commencement of the exercise.
