FCT Police Spokesperson Adeh Equates Safety of Hilda Baci’s Pot of Rice to Adequate Security

The spokesperson of the Abuja Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, has hailed the peaceful outcome of Chef Hilda Baci’s record-breaking largest pot of Jollof ever cooked as proof of Nigeria’s improving security situation.

Referencing the event where the world’s largest pot of rice was cooked and served without incident, Adeh stated:

“Despite the chorus of ‘Nigeria is not safe’, the world’s largest pot of rice was cooked and enjoyed peacefully. Big appreciation to the Nigeria Police and other security forces who made it possible. And the best part? Not a single person stole the pot of rice now that’s real security!”

The event, which was held at Eko Hotel and sponsored by Gino, attracted large crowds and significant media attention. It reportedly ended without any major security breach, a point Adeh used to counter persistent concerns about public safety in Nigeria.

There has been backlash following the comment with many measuring how the safety of a pot of rice can be equated with securing the lives of the people.

Reacting, @unkleayo wrote; I’ve always known that 1 digit IQ is the core criteria for adorning police officers in Nigeria.

Your ability to be stupid needs to be stupendously high, then you qualify.

“Pot of rice” is your own standard for security?

Jossy, baa ankali.”

@bossman “Hmmmm!!! That shows we have a good security system in Lagos abi? Because the Nigerian police were able to protect and secured pot of rice so it means Lagos is safe?”

@mezieabia “Over 20 thousand Nigerians came out to eat free rice showing that there’s hunger in the land. If this does not bother you as a police officer, then there’s a problem.”

@iam_jahbwai “Sometimes law enforcement sounds like agbero. Let her go and try this in my state kaduna and come back to tweet this later let’s see.”
