Three-Storey Building Collapse: Four Rescued, Others Feared Trapped
A three-storey building under construction collapsed on Friday night, September 12, 2025, at 333 Borno Street in the Alagomeji area of Yaba, Lagos State, leaving several people trapped under the debris.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed the incident in a statement posted on Saturday on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle. According to the agency, the collapse occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m.

“While eyewitness accounts vary, with some saying six people were trapped and others reporting five, emergency responders have so far rescued four adult males alive and taken them to the hospital for treatment,” NEMA stated.
Rescue operations were swiftly launched by teams from NEMA, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, and other emergency units. Search and rescue efforts continued through the night as responders worked to locate and assist anyone trapped in the rubble.
