Sen. David Mark, Aregbesola Lead Top ADC Leaders to Abia for Landmark Leadership Summit

The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, and the National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, are set to lead other top leaders of the party to Abia State for a one-day leadership meeting tagged “Handshake Across Abia.”

The event, which promises to be the biggest ADC gathering in recent times, is scheduled to be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Murphy Mansion Arena / War Museum, Umuahia, beginning at 12:00 noon.

According to the organisers, the leadership summit is themed “The ADC Way: Redefining Leadership through Youth, Innovation, and Service in Abia State.”

It is designed to strengthen the party’s presence in the state while inspiring a new generation of leaders driven by integrity, innovation, and service.

Among the key figures expected at the event are Chief Ralphs Okey Nwosu, Sir Bon Unachukwu, Queen Nkechi Okiyi, Comrade Nkem Ukandu, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Barrister Etigwe Uwa (SAN), Senator Austin Akobundu, Sir Chikwe Udensi, and Hon. Munachim Alozie.

Speaking on the significance of the summit, the Acting State Chairman of ADC, Mazi Kanu O. Kanu, said the gathering aims to reposition the party as a credible alternative platform capable of redefining governance and leadership in Abia State.

“The ADC is committed to a leadership model that places service, innovation, and youth inclusion at the centre of development. This summit will serve as a rallying point for all progressives who believe in the future of Abia,” he said.

With the participation of top national and state leaders, the Handshake Across Abia summit is expected to mark a turning point for the ADC in its quest to expand its influence and mobilise for future elections.
