Ned Nwoko Denies Marrying Regina Daniels at 17, Says She Claimed to Be 21 When They Met
Senator Prince Ned Nwoko has refuted circulating claims allegedly made by his wife, Regina Daniels, suggesting that he married her when she was 17 years old. The lawmaker described the allegations as “entirely untrue and misleading.”

In a statement released on Thursday, Nwoko clarified that during his first meeting with Regina, he asked her age and she told him she was 21 years old. According to him, she also provided proof of age through her Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voter’s card, which indicated that she was born on October 10, 1998.
“For clarity, during my first meeting with Regina, I asked her age, and she told me she was 21 years old. I further asked if she had any documents to support this, and she presented her INEC voter’s card, which clearly shows that she was born on October 10th, 1998. I informed her that I would keep this document in my possession, and I have done so since that day,” Nwoko stated.
He also cited a BBC interview granted by Regina’s mother after their marriage, noting that her statements corroborated the same age.

According to Nwoko, their marriage took place six years ago, making Regina 27 years old today. “Any suggestion that I married her at 17 is false and should not be accepted by the public,” he said.
The senator further urged the public to approach all such claims with caution, taking into account what he described as Regina’s “current mental condition,” alleging that she had “started and abandoned her rehabilitation from illegal drug addiction.”
“The facts are verifiable and indisputable,” Nwoko concluded.
