Court Jails Four for Attempted Sale of 4-Year-Old Child
A Federal High Court in Makurdi, presided over by Hon. Justice Raphael Joshua Egbe, has convicted four individuals for offences linked to the buying and selling of a human being, including obtaining possession of a four-year-old child with the intent to sell.
The convicted persons are 25-year-old Saoor Doorshima and 30-year-old Godwin Queen D., who were each sentenced to two years imprisonment; 48-year-old Evangelist Grace Etim, who received a three-year sentence; and 26-year-old Terungwa Miriam D., also sentenced to three years.

They were found guilty on a one-count charge of obtaining possession of a four-year-old girl with the intent to sell, an offence punishable under Section 21 of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015.
Justice Egbe held that the prosecution had sufficiently proven its case, resulting in the conviction and sentencing of all four defendants.
