MOUAU, ABSU Shine at Abia Tertiary Sports Fiesta
The ongoing 1st Abia State Tertiary Sports Fiesta continued on a high note as athletes from institutions across the state delivered impressive performances on the track and field.

In the 10,000m men’s race, Chibuike Okoroji of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) dominated the event, finishing in 14:47 to take first place. Issah Prescious of Spiritan University followed in second with a time of 47:06, while Chima Christopher of Gregory University placed third with 59:42:90.
MOUAU also claimed gold in the men’s shot put, where Emezie Marvellous (No. 109) secured first position. Ezenobi Chidiebere (No. 131) representing ABSU finished second, and Mbonu Miracle (No. 115) of Spiritan University took third.

In the women’s shot put, ABSU celebrated another victory as Eze Princess Chizuru (No. 54) clinched first place. Spiritan University secured both second and third positions through Promise Mgbekwere (No. 36) and Orji Chisom Glory (No. 34) respectively.
The 5,000m women’s race saw a strong outing from ABSU, with Samuel Goodness taking first place and Ezekwe Prescious Nora finishing second. Shadrach Elizabeth N. of Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba, secured third place to complete the podium.
